Maintaining Employment

Finding, Keeping and Growing in a Job You're Proud Of

Work gives us more than an income. It gives us routine, purpose, people to talk to, and a reason to feel proud at the end of the day. For many people living with disability, the barrier isn't ability — it's the practical stuff along the way. Getting to the interview. Knowing what to put on a resume. Feeling confident asking an employer for the adjustments you're entitled to.

Phileo Care is an NDIS support provider on the Central Coast, and we walk alongside you through all of it — whether you're looking for your first job, returning to work after time away, or wanting to hold on to the job you already have.

Looking for Work

Job hunting can feel overwhelming when you're doing it alone. We sit down with you and break it into steps that make sense.

  • Working out what kind of work suits your strengths, interests and energy levels
  • Searching and applying for jobs online, and setting up job alerts
  • Writing and updating your resume so it reflects what you actually bring
  • Writing cover letters that sound like you, not a template
  • Preparing for interviews, including practice runs and working out what to say about your disability (and what you don't have to say)
  • Setting up and organising the paperwork employers ask for

Keeping the Job You Have

Starting a job and staying in one are two different challenges. We can support you with the everyday things that help work stay sustainable.

  • Building routines that make getting to work each day easier
  • Understanding your role, your rights and your workplace expectations
  • Problem-solving when something at work isn't going well
  • Talking with your employer about reasonable adjustments
  • Managing changes — new duties, new shifts, a new manager, a new team

Getting There

Transport is one of the most common reasons a job falls over, and it's one of the easiest to fix. We provide safe, reliable transport to interviews, inductions, training and shifts — and, where it's a goal of yours, we'll teach you the route so you can eventually do it on your own. Planning the journey, reading timetables, knowing what to do if a bus is cancelled: these are skills, and they can be learned.

Volunteering as a Stepping Stone

Not everyone is ready for paid work tomorrow, and that's completely okay. Volunteering builds real experience, real references and real confidence, at a pace that suits you. We can help you find a local organisation that matches your interests, make the first contact, and come along while you settle in.

Why Choose Phileo Care?

Our team comes from social work, disability support, mentoring and community services backgrounds, and we've supported people through some of the hardest transitions life offers. We move at your pace, we're honest with you, and we back your independence at every step.

People before profits. That's not a slogan for us — it's how we decide things.
